During a first-order phase transition in the early Universe, bubbles expand while undergoing friction from plasma particles, and eventually collide with each other. It is very important to estimate the friction correctly, since the resulting gravitational wave emission can change by orders of magnitude. However, it is only recently that the contribution from particle splitting was pointed out to be the most important friction channel in very strong first-order phase transitions, and since then several groups have reported contradicting results. In this talk, we report the result of resumming real and virtual gauge boson emissions in all leading-log orders, both analytically and numerically by Monte Carlo simulations. We find that the gauge boson emission gives a friction proportional to γ m T^3 (γ: Lorentz factor of the bubble wall, m: gauge boson mass, T: plasma temperature). Our result has tensions with some literature, which will also be explained.
