Abstract摘要
Pulsar Timing Array (PTA) systems are designed to use the arrival time residues of signals from pulsars to detect the Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background (SGWB). Recent data released by the NANOGrav, PPTA and EPTA collaborations has shown strong evidence for a power-law like power spectrum for the correlation function of the signal, assuming an isotropic SGWB. However, these results do not provide strong evidence for angular dependence of the correlation function. Several possible reasons for this have been proposed, one of which involves the idea that gravity might be described by a modified theory beyond general relativity. In this talk, I will discuss the PTA correlation function in ghost-free massive gravity theory, and discuss the possibility of using PTA systems to distinguish massive gravity theory from general relativity. At the end of the talk, I will discuss some other potential ideas for using PTA systems to shed light on gravity and cosmology.
