Abstract摘要
Wilson loops are important non-local operators in gauge theories. In these lectures, I will first review the definition of a Wilson loop and give a proof of its gauge invariance when the loop is closed. Half-BPS Wilson loops along a infinite straight line or a circle in N=4 super Yang-Mills will be introduced. Then I will introduce the Zarembo loops as generalization of the case of a straight line. Perturbation computation of the vacuum expectation value of a Zarembo loop will be explained. We will further review the construction of various BPS Wilson loops in ABJM theory, especially the fermionic BPS Wilson loops. Here the construction of Half-BPS Wilson loops solved a puzzle in the AdS4/CFT3 correspondence.
