  • Abstract摘要

    The Collective Behaviors of Active Particles in Complex Environments Diverse collective behaviors of active matter are universal in systems both macroscopic and microscopic scale. Based on Vicsek model, we found that in the absent of noise, the less the correlation of the velocity among particles initially, the more even the particles distribute in space when the particles achieving motional consensus. The degree of competition between alignment interaction and noise varies non-monotonic with the increasing of the strength of noise because of different distribution of update of particles’ velocity causing by noise. For the cases that the motion of the active particles affected by the spatial-dependent noise, the direction of the motion of the active particles will parallel to the orientation of the noisy region when the orientation of the noisy region is the integer multiple of 𝜋⁄4. Other features of noisy region including shape, the proportion of the area and the spatial distribution will also have impacts on the collective motion of active particles. These results promote the excavation of the basic principles of collective behavior which is essential for the further understanding of nature.
