The deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum (DRHBc), which self-consistently treats deformation, pairing correlations, and continuum effects, has been successfully applied to the study of halo nuclei. In this work, the quasi-particle finite amplitude method based on the DRHBc theory is developed to investigate the electric dipole (E1) response in the predicted deformed halo nuclei 42,44Mg. A systematic calculation of the E1 strength is performed for Mg isotopes from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line. The results reveal a significant enhancement of the E1 strength in 42Mg and 44Mg at approximately 2.5 MeV, which is absent in 40Mg. Analysis of the transition density demonstrates a clear relative motion between the weakly bound halo neutrons and the core. Further examination shows that this enhancement predominantly arises from excitations of halo neutrons.
