  • Abstract摘要

A fundamental bottleneck in universal fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC) is the real-time decoding challenge: classical error processing must stay ahead of physical noise to prevent a catastrophic error “backlog”. For over a decade, achieving sub-microsecond latency on scalable superconducting processors has remained a significant hurdle.

I will present our team’s multi-year journey toward solving these critical constraints, centered on two complementary pillars: a cutting-edge neural decoding algorithm and the robust hardware-software architecture required to support it at scale.

    Biography

Jianxin Chen (陈建鑫) is a tenured associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University. His recent research focuses on the system design and implementation of quantum computers, as well as quantum error correction and fault tolerance. He earned his Bachelor of Science (2005) and Doctor of Philosophy (2010) degrees in Computer Science from Tsinghua University. Subsequently, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo / University of Guelph (Canada), and the Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science (QuICS), University of Maryland, College Park (USA). Prior to joining the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University in March 2025, he led R&D efforts for both the systems team and the North American team at the Alibaba Quantum Laboratory.
